Discovering Audio Books!

I may have been living in the dark ages, but I am a new recruit to the audiobook revolution.

To be truthful, I was skeptical of the Kindle when it first launched—nothing can beat the feel and smell of a book, the anticipation of turning each page. But over time, I caved and now own an (uncharged) Kindle.

For me, audiobooks are an opportunity to explore stories I might have otherwise overlooked.

So far, I’ve listened to biographies, autobiographies, historical adventures, comedies, mythical exploits, science fiction, and even really, really long books I’d never have picked up from a shelf. The only book I don’t think I could listen to is a cookbook!

Once I’ve downloaded a title, I pop on my headphones, leash up the dog, and walk while immersing myself in mystical lands, untold histories, heartbreaks, or uncontrollable laughter. Speaking of laughter, Dawn French’s The Twat Files is absolute genius—hilarious and heartfelt. If you haven’t read or listened to it yet, I urge you to do so!

Even better, I recently discovered that Spotify offers audiobooks to download. Now, I’ll never be without a tale to whisk me away for five minutes or a couple of hours.

What could be better?
